Summary

The IT Programmer/Analyst will assist with web application development and data analysis projects.  This individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining queries and system reports, assisting with application development, implementation and integration, as well as troubleshooting database application issues.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Perform routine programmer and analyst activities including managing the loading and maintenance of key company databases, SQL query development and report development.
  • Review and optimize query performance.
  • Write queries used in front end web applications.
  • Expert at inner/outer table joins.
  • Modify database tables to utilize most recent information.
  • Test query results for accuracy with end users.
  • Support analysis and reporting through web based access tools.
  • Provide user support.
  • Systems and Process Support – aids business and production teams in learning business application systems.
  • Application development, adoption, and integration.
  • Assist in implementing new business software and integration solutions.
  • Troubleshoot failures within the integration mechanisms
  • Research new technology and products that support the organization’s business goals and objectives

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or may substitute equivalent experience for educational requirement
  • 1 year(s) of experience with SQL Server
  • Experience with Maximum Processing’s Stingray System
  • Familiarity with Property and Casualty Insurance
  • Ability to work independently

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or may substitute equivalent experience for educational requirement.
  • 1 year(s) of experience with SQL Server.
  • Insurance background preferred.

Other Requirements

  • May be required to attend activities outside the office to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
  • Pursuant to the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, all employees must remain drug free and alcohol free when reporting to work and while engaged in any work related activities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules that may include early/late or weekend working hours.
