Terry and Marion Forcht of Corbin were recently honored by Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear at a ceremony in Frankfort for their contribution that allowed the Capitol Rotunda Murals to be completed in time for Kentucky’s Capitol Centennial Celebration in 2010. The ceremony was held July 24, 2012 in the Capitol Rotunda and featured the unveiling of a permanent plaque recognizing the Forcht’s contribution.
The commemorative plaque says: “In October 2009, the Kentucky Capitol Centennial Commission selected the rotunda pendentive murals as the legacy project for the 100th anniversary of this majestic building. Donated by Marion and Terry Forcht of Corbin, Kentucky, the rotunda murals were dedicated during the Capitol Centennial Ceremony on June 4, 2010. Because of the Forcht’s remarkable generosity this project was realized which exemplifies the spirit and rich history of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”
